Sheryl McFarlane is the author of fifteen books for children. Waiting for the Whales, Jessie’s Island, and A Pod of Orcas are a few of her best-selling, award-winning books. The Smell of Paint was her first young adult novel, and she is working on a second. Her newest picture book, I Love Kisses, is a reminder that love is diverse and universal. Sheryl enjoys reading, renovating old houses, and growing raspberries for her grandchildren.

Kyla Ilic has had a passion for books since childhood, and she has kept some of the classics such as Peter Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland and The Secret Garden. Letting her imagination run wild, she decided it was time to pursue an adventure of her own through self-publication with Pippin’s Press.

Alison Gear is an educator and writer currently living in Victoria where she is working on two new children’s books. She spent twenty years living on Haida Gwaii where she was an Early Learning Coordinator for School District 50. She has an MA in Language and Literacy Education from the University of British Columbia. Alison is passionate about literacy and learning and believes the power of words and stories can make a difference in every child’s life. Taan's Moons was a 3 month art project involving Kindergarten (some mixed Grade1/2) classes of all six elementary schools on Haida Gwaii, BC.
